I headed up the mountain this afternoon to hike the famous Danny On Trail. It is a lung searing, 8 mile round trip hike with 2000 feet of vertical gain. The hike has amazing views of the valley below and from the summit, sweeping vistas into Glacier National Park.

The Trail head is only a 10 minute drive from our wood shop here in Whitefish, Montana. So this is a trail we hit quite a bit in the summer and fall seasons. I've seen elk, bears and even a wolverine once from the trail. Its hard to believe we are so blessed with such an amazing trail so close to home...
