Barb waiting for a refill at Paraduxx Winery
We stayed at the Vintage Inn right in town and headed out each day for tastings and late lunch. We hit most of the stalwarts in the valley. Notable among them were Stag's Leap, Duckhorn and Grgich Hills Estate. Of the many vineyards we wandered to, these three stood out -both for the wine but also for the scenery and service.

We also made it a point to begin each day's tastings by starting with some sparkling wines (...not called champagne in these parts!) The Vintage Inn hosts an amazing breakfast each morning with complimentary sparking wine so it seemed like a natural segue after leaving the Inn.
Both Mumm and Domaine Chandon have astonishingly beautiful estates. Easing into each day with crisp, light bubbles was a great call before venturing into tasty red wines for the rest of the day.
Lunch each day was unique treat. We kept it simple and light with our bellies so full from the wine. We did Pacific Blues cafe in Yountville (amazing deck and grilled salmon salad,) Gott's Roadside (former gas station turned lunch joint...) and our absolute best lunch was at the Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch.

For dinners we treated ourselves to Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty, R+D Kitchen and Redd. Each was unique and delectable in its own way with eclectic menus and incredible ambiance... and all were walking (or stumbling) distance from the cozy, Vintage Inn.
